Russell - Elwood Dickson

Elwood Dickson Russell, employee of R. R. Donnelley & Sons, died suddenly early Thursday morning. Mr. Russell, who had been employed by the printing firm for over five years, was 51. The deceased was a member of the Fremont Street Baptist Church, and at the time of his death, was serving as vice president of Holy Land Mission, Inc. Mr. Russell and his family resided at 305 Englewood Drive. Born on July 28, 1917, in Rosedale, he was the son of William and Ruth Cottrell Russell. He was married on Sept. 10, 1950, to Mary Alice Hixson. The ceremony took place in Kentucky Surviving are the wife; a son, Paul, who is serving with the Army in Vietnam; two daughters, Ruth Ann and Mary Katherine; the stepmother, Mrs. Eunice Russell of South Bend; a stepsister, Mrs. Al Medlin of Garland, Tex., and an aunt, Katherine Rainwater of Bloomingdale. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Powers Funeral Home with Revs. Robert Ibach (?) and Robert Shotts officiating. Burial will be in Bloomingdale Cemetery.
